[It's not until mid-morning when Shizuo is about to head out for his daily brunch when he opens the door to find the crate. He's puzzled at first, but then...
...
He contemplates whether going over to Disciple's or to just send a message. For now, he goes with the latter.]
[Disicple was busy tending to his own errands to be checking on his journal. So when he sees the response, it'll probably be a half hour later. It takes him a moment, but he gathers what Shizuo meant.]
[He eats! When he remembers. He's relieved when Shizuo didn't press on it further, but he doesn't feel good about it. You know it's all right to want something else besides "the mission", you know? You can't even do anything about it here--]
I don't need you lecturing me. [He huffs, getting back to his business with vigor. Just shut up, Hyde.
But he inevitably ends up leaving his home to do some errands, which just happens to be in the same area of the cafe Shizuo mentioned. What a coincidence.]
Shizuo is sitting outside since it's a nice day (makes it easier to smoke, too), just quietly enjoying a cup of coffee and a sandwich. Cake will be had later. He's actually reading a book because...well he's in a realm of stories. Might as well read up on a few right?
But we're not going to make it easy for you, Disciple. Oh no. YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE MOVE THIS TIME.]
[But he showed up, isn't that enough?] . . . [That food does look good though, and he really should stop and get something to eat. Taking a deep breath, he starts walking over to where Shizuo was seated. The only indication he makes that he was there is the clearing of his throat.]
[...Well he put in all that effort to show up and let him know he's here. So yes, he will join him in the sitting and do that social thing people do during these. Except the socializing part. He has to look at the menu and order something first afterall.]
[They're going to be sitting in complete silence the whole time at this rate. It seems to suit Disciple just fine, staying silent as he pours himself some tea and drinks from his cup.
[And he'll see that it is when his food arrives, a tomato bisque and with a meat sandwich. It won't take him long to take a bite and sample his order. Not in any rush, he could savor his meal, leaning back in his seat with content. When was the last time he's had a decent meal like this...?]
[Seeing Disciple seem to enjoy the sandwich is a bit of a relief. He wouldn't want the guy to dislike the food.
So there's just a quiet hum of agreement as he returns to his own food, which he had been more slowly going through due to the reading, which has been set to the side since Disciple arrived.
...Yeah this is probably going to be a very quiet table.]
[And he was the one who wanted to invite him. Staying quiet is what the Disciple has grown used to. This was normal to him, but he's aware it's not for others. And also...]
[Fine...he's fine. No you're not, you're absolutely boring. He tilts his head to one side, brushing aside Hyde's remark. If he's not being a bother, then he's happy with that.
...Since when was he ever worried about what someone else thought?
He shakes his head, returning to his meal. He doesn't speak up again as he eats, only turning his attention away from his own food when the cake Shizuo ordered arrives.]
[Shizuo really is quite content with the silence—it's not as uncommon now, but most of his life has always been full of disruptions and getting caught up in stupid shit that usually ends with him having to fight idiots. So having this time to just chill in familiar company is like a blessing. So even if living in this realm has given him an opportunity for more of that "normal" kind of living he was deprived of back home, he still treats each one important.
But now here's the cake! It's a simple one—soft white cake with some strawberries and raspberry drizzle. Shizuo is more than ready to dig it into when he pauses and glances over at Disciple.]
...I was gonna offer you some, but I remembered—you're not a fan of sweets, right?

I'll take a small piece. I hear things taste better with company. [He can make an exception. Strawberries are nice too.]
