[ And her mood is starting to improve now! It's nice that Shizuo wants to try make it up to her.

[And when they get there, they will indeed be able to taste cakes! Actually, the table itself is fine. Actually there are a lot here.]

Try this one. [And holds out the one he had been tasting. It's like some variation of chocolate mango—only there aren't any mangos so whatever fruit equivalent there is to it.]

[ Cakes make everything better.

Actually, sweets and sugar in general does for these two. It's nice to have access to them easily though.

Taking a bit from the one he's holding, Vorona chews on it for a moment before nodding her head. ] It's enjoyable.

Yeah, it's not too sweet. [Trying one with powdered sugar on it next.]

That one looks like it might be more sweet.

I thought so, too, but it has lemon custard in it. [Takes a bite before once again offering it to Vorona.]

Oh. ... I really like the sound of that. [ They're going to need to make some of these back home later. Vorona hums in amusement as she bites a bit as well. ]

[But can either of them bake?]

[ Probably not. That's okay though, the worst that can happen is that they burn down their home. ]

The one from earlier. It wasn't too sweet which is nice, a decent mixture.

[Just as he looked to try another one he was interrupted by someone asking if they would like to play a game.

A game of eating cake. It wasn't the same one like the cake eating contest. Instead, they had to give each other 10 pieces of cake and they must choose which one they think the other would like. There were two modes. They either compete against each other to see who knows the other best, or they could compete against another pair.

Well, it's not as bad as others. They left out the detail that would have made him immediately reject (probably for that reason) so what say you, Vorona?]

[ Games are fun.

We all know how well the other one went so it does come down to Shizuo when she decides to agree to it. It would really suck if she got excited over a game again, only to not be able to do it properly this time. ]

[He'll agree to it. And throw something of a fuss later, maybe. But in the meantime—]

Want to compete with each other or another pair?

I am quite content with either. We can go with another pair if you feel as if we know each other's tastes well enough.

[ Which is a 50/50 if you ask her. ]

[Time to sit at a table and meet...the really obnoxiously handsy couple they would be competing against.]

[ The sight before her doesn't bother her, but the couple do catch her interest. They must be together if they're behaving like that, have a different relationship to Shizuo and herself.

Although, even if they were together, they wouldn't behave like that. ]

This shouldn't be too hard.

[Shizuo is just kind of...eyeing them a moment before looking at the empty table between him and Vorona. They'll bring out the random assorted cakes when the time starts.]

Probably gonna be easier since they won't be paying much attention I bet. [An actual sarcastic remark about other people!] Well, not that I really care too much about winning. Gonna be eating cake, after all.

[...Yep. That's all he cares about.]

[ Sarcasm?? From Shizuo?? A shame that it basically flies over Vorona's head. ]

I'm afraid I don't see why they won't be paying attention. [ Or at least already be aware of what their partner would prefer. ] The sweets are the main focus.

[...Does he have to actually explain? Well not that he minds. Just. It's Shizuo.]

It's supposed to be, but pretty sure they're more interested in each other.

Except now they're being told the rules. Which includes feeding each other.

Well. That's not what he had expected. Nor is he sure about this. Could be worse... At least he can use a fork (although it's possible to feed by hand—yeah, he's not).]

[ Having to feed each other will be interesting.

Thank god they're not going to use their hands. Vorona has some sense after all and would use the tools given to her (aka a fork or spoon when required). ]

[Well. Whatever. He made such a big deal at the whole Tocky thing, he'll try and not be such a spoil sport this time. Not that he's ever really fed another person before. If he gets it all over her face, it's an accident.

With that foreshadow out of the way, it's time to begin! The cakes are cleverly designed to not reveal their contents, so they have to first taste it themselves and then decide whether to share it with the other. Shizuo is up first, so he'll select one, take a bite, think carefully, and then take a spoonful (same spoon, too, which he isn't paying much attention about since he is in game mode right now) before holding it out to her.]

[ At least he's making an attempt.

She'll watch him carefully, looking over at the other couple to see what they're doing as well before returning her attention to him. Once he shows her the spoon, she'll take what cake is on there and take some time to think about it. ]

It's ... ... interesting.

What, don't like it? [Uh oh, he's supposed to be able to tell what she would like!]

It isn't that I don't like it, but...

[ She doesn't enjoy it. ]
